‘People have voted for BJP’s good governance’

As the polling ended on Monday and the long wait till March 10 began for the results to be declared, the Uttar Pradesh unit of Bharatiya Janata Party claimed that people had voted for good governance and the result would come in favour of the party.

“The fates of the candidates are sealed in the electronic voting machines (EVMs). We had gone to the people with our report card and asked for people’s support on the basis of our performance. The indicators available suggest that the people have voted in favour of the BJP,” party state president Swatantra Dev Singh said here on Monday.

He said that the opposition did not have any issue in the election.

“They talked about irrelevant issues while only the BJP raised the issues which concerned people. We talked about how the BJP government provided homeless people homes, women their `izzat’ through construction of toilets, and gave people a fear-free atmosphere and this led to increase in investment,” he pointed out.

The party is resting hopes on women as BJP leaders claim that its free ration distribution has gone very well with the women.

“The women have voted for the BJP’s concern during the pandemic. From cities to villages, women have voted for social security and thus have opted for BJP,” he said.

Hitting out at the opposition, Singh said that from tomorrow the leaders of Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and Congress would start blaming EVMs.

“Women power will be instrumental in bringing Yogi Adityanath back to power,” he said.
