Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Samajwad’s Big Boss” (January 18). Given that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav enjoyed a majority in the party’s organisational and legislative structure, it is good that the Election Commission allotted the ‘bicycle’ symbol to the Akhilesh faction. So, the son finally came out of his father’s shadow.
If Akhilesh Yadav joins hands with the Congress, and the Rashtriya Janata Dal, he can corner the Bahujan Samaj Party and the BJP. Akhilesh is indeed the undisputed leader and also a new face in Uttar Pradesh politics. With his ability to deliver on development — be it roads, or the lucknow metro or the ongoing Agra-lucknow Express Way project — the political fortune is in his favour.
