Sir — The Delhi Assembly election is round the corner and all political parties are making surreal promises to woo the voters. The Opposition is leaving no stone unturned to thrash the performance of the incumbent Government whereas the conceited regime is hoping to secure yet another mandate in its favour.
But in the cacophony, the prominent issue of cleaning the Yamuna river has gone unnoticed. The fact is that the national Capital is the main culprit responsible for vilifying the sanctity of this sacred river. Yet, despite the river’s abysmal state, its preservation and restoration hasn’t been talked about in political circles as vociferously as it should have been. The State’s chief ministerial contenders must make cleaning the Yamuna their priority.
