Sir — With ever-increasing Pakistan-sponsored militant activities in India and spokespersons of the Pakistani Government spitting fire against us, it is a matter of utmost regret that a nationalist BJP-led Indian Government has reportedly all but given the go-ahead to India-Pakistan cricket ties. Some of our leading politicians are involved in the game’s administration. Allowing cricketing ties on the coffins of our soldiers benefit only the coffers of the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
We are proud of the Indian Hockey Federation, which set an example by asking Hockey India to stop the participation of Pakistani players in the Hockey India league after the killing of Indian soldiers by the Pakistan Army in January 2013. Could the BCCI not exhibit the same nationalist approach by making the handing-over of the 26/11 masterminds and others like Dawood Ibrahim, to India, a prerequisite for re-instating India-Pakistan cricket tiesIJ
