Sir — This refers to the article, “Not a spoilt child, but indeed a rogue nation” (November 28) by Joginder Singh. India keeps wondering why Pakistan remains shameless inspite of having been treated with extreme kindness in the past. One reason which is not figured in, and yet is influential, is the indoctrination into a black and white mindset through religious teaching. Hindus cannot imagine that Muslims (or Christians for that matter) really could believe that the divine damns people to eternal hellfire because they worship it in some other way. Yet there are many who do believe it and who try to please their god by trying to wipe the ‘infidels’ out.
