Wrong methods

Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Striking at democracy” (September 2). It is ironical that cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan has launched a protest movement in a bid to topple the democratically-elected Government of Mr Nawaz Sharif on the pretext that elections in Pakistan, which paved the way for Mr Sharif to become the Prime Minister, were rigged.

If Mr Khan had indeed felt so, then the best possible way was to take recourse to constitutional and judicial means so that his concerns could be addressed. The path Mr Khan has chosen is inappropriate.
