Sir — This refers to the article, “Pollutants and skewed sex ratio” (July 24) by Gautam Pandey. It is a well-written and informative article which enlightens the readers about the perils of the unmindful use of chemicals and their deadly impact on the environment and the living species.
The matter calls for a serious and detailed study to establish convincingly the role of each chemical released in the streams and how it moves up in the food chain, without breaking down to safer chemicals and levels, causing grave health risks.
