Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Tactical master stroke” (March 19). Mr Narendra Modi’s astuteness has come to the fore by the way he kept everybody guessing till the last minute before opting for Varanasi.
He has silenced his detractors who had spread rumours that he would avoid contesting from Uttar Pradesh. In politics, there is nothing like a safe seat, and Mr Modi knows it well. Mr Modi has never been carried away by baseless criticism, and he has done his homework well. His desire to bring a catalytic change in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar is apparent.
