Sir — This refers to the article, “Hate-India icon has a change of heart” (October 22) by Rajesh Singh. If words could wash away sins, the world would be full of holy men.
To Mr Henry Kissinger, only power mattered. His boss Richard Nixon and he nurtured the most debased political culture in America. Nixon was impeached, and Mr Kissinger will be tossed in the dustbin of history as inconsequential, except for being remembered for the misery he caused.
The people of Vietnam, Cambodia, East Pakistan (now Bangladesh), and people of conscience in the US and elsewhere do not care much of what he now writes. It is a whitewash applied over hogwash.
