This is to place on record that the Central Board of Excise and Customs is fully geared to the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax. CBEC and its officers are involved in all aspects of work relating to Model laws, Rules, Capacity Building, Outreach etc relating to GST. The note referred to in your article is an internal note, and concerns raised regarding “turf war” are unsubstantiated. The CBEC is fully committed to implementing the biggest indirect tax reform in India.
