Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Recognition of excellence” (March 20). The golden days of Indian cinema ended with the passing away of greats like Bimal Roy, Mehboob Khan and the Chopra brothers, who made meaningful movies. Yet, after a long time, an all-attention catching film like Irrfan Khan-starrer Paan Singh Tomar emerges on the firmament of tinsel town to enthrall film buffs. The two national awards to the film for best actor and best film are well-deserved and justified.
