Sir — This refers to the editorial, “A good choice for coach” (June 27). Anil Kumble’s appointment as the new coach of the Indian cricket team is bound to bear fruits and glory to cricket in India. First, Kumble is adept in technique and skill of the game on field which will vastly improve the players. Second, his calmness and relaxed perunality outside the field will satisfy all stakeholders. Third, he is a born leader who will inspire everyone so as to create commitment to the game by his disciplines.
The endorsement of Kumble’s coaching by all greats of the past (who formed the section committee) like Saurav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and VVS lachman speks volumes in Kumbe’s favour. Thus, let us congratulate him with open arms to bring future bright for India.
