Sir — This refers to the news report, “For major crimes ‘16’ is not minor” (November 28). Seeing the rising number of juveniles involved in crimes related to sex, it is heartening to note that the Government is reworking the provisions of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act so that minors involved in heinous crimes can be tried as adults under the Indian Penal Code. The law must be updated in keeping with the changing times.
