Sir — This refers to a report that a group of women from Tamil Nadu has initiated a drive to revive ‘Indian family values’. It is heartening to know that at last a few educated women have felt the need to think of society in terms of family as its smallest unit and propagate Indian cultural values. 

Horrific data on marriages in the US should serve as an eye-opener to those in our country who ape Western culture just to prove they are progressive. The ills of society should be removed, but at the same time core values of our system need to be preserved for harmony in society.
