Sir — Ms Mamata Banerjee is sheer populism minus substance. She had a great opportunity after de-throning the communists, but she squandered it. Today, the communists may not be a threat to her, but the BJP is on her heels.
Hence, she has unsheathed the classic attack weapon — communalism. To term the Burdwan blasts as an RSS plan, cooked up by the NSA, is far-fetched. But she will trot it out anyway.
