Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Sad, bad, unfortunate” (June 18). Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has betrayed the popular mandate, because the people supported the NDA and not just him and his party. leaders of both the JD(U) and the BJP contributed in equal measure towards the socio-economic development of Bihar.
By expelling BJP Ministers from their posts, Mr Nitish Kumar has done a disservice to his former colleagues and broken the basic norms of partnership, wherein every partner must be accorded equal dignity. Blind egoism and treating one-time friends as enemies has become the way of modern politics.
Bihar needs a strong leader who can help develop its economy and ensure social empowerment. Unfortunately, Mr Nitish Kumar, for narrow political gains, has failed to be that leader.
