VK Singh's outrage over media criticism justified

Television news channels thrive on creating a mountain of a mole-hill, and waste prime time in the irritating and futile free-for-all shouting debates on insignificant and mundane matters by the same characters that thrive on an anti-BJP and anti-Narendra Modi agenda. They pounced on Union Minister and the former Army chief, General VK Singh, for performing a normal diplomatic duty of attending a function concerning Pakistan. But they failed to appreciate his excellent execution of Operation Rahat under extremely dangerous conditions in Yemen. They are offended at his disgust with the media. Now, they are offended by the word ‘presstitute', which as described by the General, applies to persons whose pen is available to the highest bidder.

The media wants the Ministers to accept criticism and not react. The same rule should apply to the media and, therefore, media personnel too should exercise restraint, accept criticism and apologise to the viewers for unnecessarily creating a sensation over trivial matters.
