Victory against Congress

Sir — This refers to the article, “The Establishment has been put on notice” (December 24) by A Surya Prakash. I don’t agree with writer’s view that the Aam Aadmi Party’s victory is the result of popular disenchantment with the political mainstream.
The AAP won 28 seats at the cost of Congress, and not the BJP. The latter still emerged as the number one party in Delhi. Former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit fell victim to the pan-national anti-Congress wave. However, Mr Narendra Modi also has the challenge of keeping the pro-BJP momentum alive. In Indian politics, a few months is a long time.
