Sir — Water crisis in Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla is really unfortunate as it has set in enormous problems for the residents of the city. While the everyday demand for water comes to nearly 40 million litres, the supply is nearly 20 million litres per day. The State administration and concerned authorities must work together to ensure that this does not become a recurring problem as it happens every year with the onset of summer months. Strict norms for water usage must be maintained and the public must be educated to act intelligently in times of crisis.
