Unwise politics

Published on:

Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Politics of disruption” (July 22). Debates, discussions, decision and then disruptions should be the order for proceedings in Parliament. Unfortunately, it looks like the Congress, led by Mr Rahul Gandhi is bent on disrupting Parliament over lalit Modi and Vyapam issues without any debate or discussion on them. This is nothing but immature politics. More than 10 Bills are pending for clearance before both the Houses. If the Monsoon Session gets washed out because of the Congress’s adamant approach, it will not be good for the country.

The Congress must put the facts on the table about these Bills if it wants to oppose them, and convince Parliament why these are not in the country’s favour. By not allowing Parliament to function, it is giving a message that it is not interested in debates or discussions.
