Sir — Another season of the Indian Premier league (IPl) has begun. Players from around the world are being offered substantial sums of money to the tune of several crores of rupees for a 20-over cricket circus that would last nearly 50 days.
Players from several countries are playing in spite of hectic cricket schedule just for money. One fails to understand as to why the Board of Control for Cricket in India does not understand that the players deserve rest as much as they deserve money. Secondly, 20-over cricket leagues are not labelled as international cricket. So, one fails to understand as to why IPl gets so much attention all the time.
