Sir — This refers to the article, “Attendance is not optional in JNU” (February 7) by Dhananjay Singh. The premise of research work seems to be the only cause of concern, remaining all reasons given by the students and the teaching staff are unacceptable.
Attendance system must be applied for every other Government-run university and college. Aadhaar-linked accounts must be monitored by some new (sub) department for Government enrolled students to keep track of any other income apart from scholarship and other perks.
