With the Delhi High Court clarifying the responsibilities and authority of the lieutenant Governor and the Chief Minister for the State of Delhi, people now expect that the administrative powers will work in unison.
The stinging rebuke meted out to the Chief Minister must now compel him to govern the State within the confines of the Constitution and its provisions.
The conduct of lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung has been exemplary. Having been exonerated on all counts by the court, the onus is now on him, as the administrative head of Delhi, to ensure safety of its people and progress on sanitation, cleanliness and social and infrastructural development.
