Unity needed

Published on:

Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Afghanistan hurt again” (April 25). The international community has well realised that terrorism and extremist forces have become a problem for the peace and security of the civilised world. But no unified thought-out policy so far has been formulated to neutralise the terrorist violence and its remorseless devastation.

It is Pakistan which is tacitly supporting and aiding the Taliban to achieve its strategic depth in Afghanistan. There would be no peace and prosperity in the war-torn country unless and until the Talibani forces and the Haqqani network is eliminated.

Only a unified policy and unity of will among the powerful countries  can eliminate and neutralise the nefarious plan and design of the Taliban.
