Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Alliance of desperation” (May 1). The Congress has fallen so low that it is ready to sup with devils in order to defeat Mr Narendra Modi.
Mr Mukhtar Ansari is an alleged criminal of eastern Uttar Pradesh, who is an accused in many cases including the murder of the brother of the Congress candidate from Varanasi. His Quami Ekta Dal had been approached by the Congress for support, and he has extended it.
It is difficult to believe that this is the same Congress which had been nurtured and respected by greats like Tilak, Gokhale, Gandhi and Patel.
