Sir — It is unfortunate that members of the National Students’ Union of India celebrated Dussehra by burning the effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as ‘Ravan’ at Jawaharlal Nehru University. After raising anti-India and pro-Pakistan slogans early this year, the students have yet again sparked another controversy.
The citadel of learning has been turned into a breeding ground for left-leaning students who have unholy intentions and ulterior motives. First, all facilities that these students enjoy at the expense of the tax-payers must be stopped. Second, there should be an age bar for candidates seeking admissions and completing the course. Third, strict discipline should be enforced in the campus and politics must be strictly banned. Only then recurrence of such incidents will end.
