Sir — This refers to the clean chit that the National Human Rights Commission has given to the Uttar Pradesh Government over the rehabilitation of the Muzaffarnagar riot victims. This makes it clear that the issue was hyped up by some vested interest.
It also establishes that the campaign against senior State Minister Mohammed Azam Khan, who is in charge of the Muzaffarnagar issue, was motivated and false.
The commission has directed the Government to take care of those still living in the camps under inclement weather conditions and also to provide adequate compensation to the bereft families of the victims. This is a good recommendation.
