Sir — We have one case where Tarun Tejpal has been arrested for alleged sexual assault (which amounts to rape under the amended law). But we also have another case where a former judge of the Supreme Court, even though accused by a woman of sexual misconduct, remains free to roam the streets. let alone an arrest, no proceedings have been initiated against him.
‘Equality before law’ has become a subject of discussion, but the principle is not being followed, at least in this case. It is time that the law is applied equally, and without fear and favour, to all, including former judges.
