The Congress is desperate to grab a straw to hit the Modi Government and Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan on a clearly minor matter of his willingness to participate in the NDA’s celebration at India Gate on May 28, to mark two years of its rule.
Bachchan is among a number of film artistes and film-makers who have been invited to the India Gate event. Moreover, he has made it clear that he will not host the function and that he’ll there to highlight Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign.
Yet, the Congress is sickeningly suspicious that Bachchan’s participation in Modi’s major event is a signal to tax and enforcement bureaucrats not to pursue investigations into Bachchan’s alleged involvement in black money deals overseas as, revealed in Panama Papers.
