Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Bruised and battered” (December 9). The Aam Aadmi Party and its leader Arvind Kejriwal deserve congratulations for their show in Delhi. Despite pulling out all stops, the BJP could just about emerge as the single largest party here. Ms Sheila Dikshit, the ‘best performing Chief Minister for 15 years with a clean image’ paid the price for not acting against corruption.
The AAP fought the election mainly on corruption and other populist issues. The party’s preparedness outside Delhi is doubtful, but it will surely field candidates in other metros, and thus affect the prospects of the BJP and the Congress. Both these parties must realise the aspirations of the young who came out to vote in large numbers.
