This refers to the editorial, “Petty politics over peace” (August 8). While the nationally destructive agenda of the Congress to stall Parliament, delay key pieces of legislations, is still underway, Congress president Sonia Gandhi has added another treacherous dimension by condemning the Modi Government’s ‘historic’ peace agreement signed on August 3 with the Naga leadership. She has accused the Centre of bypassing the North-Eastern Chief Ministers.
The editorial, however, reminded Ms Gandhi that two Chief Ministers, Mr Tarun Gogoi of Assam and Mr Nabam Tuki of Arunachal Pradesh, had welcomed the accord. In another related report, Union Minister for State for Commerce Nirmala Sitharaman accused Ms Gandhi of asking her own North Eastern Chief Ministers ‘not to support’ the Naga agreement, disregarding the sensitive national security concerns. All the Chief Ministers have seemingly been urged to delete their tweets on the subject. Isn’t this anti-nationalIJ
