Sir — This refers to the article, “Without free Press, there can be no free society” (March 10) by Joginder Singh. The Constitution of India guarantees freedom of speech, but the freedom is being misused by certain people. The author talks of opinion polls, but many of these are tailored. Nobody would grudge freedom of speech, but it has to be viewed in terms of fairness and merit rather than it being controlled by vested interests.
