Sir — This refers to the article, “The litmus test before disillusionment sets in” (December 11) by Gautam Mukherjee. I do not agree with the writer’s view that disillusionment would set in the public if good governance is not visible in the coming days. We have to appreciate that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has to undo a lot of damage done by the previous regime. It takes time to clear the cobwebs left behind and then chart a new course of action.
Not only has Mr Modi to restore faith among investors but also control inflation, improve diplomatic and trade relations with many countries, and ensure that his party, improves its tally in the Rajya Sabha.
let us not forget that the Congress is in disarray because of the Modi-Amit Shah offensive and the other parties are scrambling to form some sort of a grand Janata parivar alliance to counter the BJP. We need to be patient and allow Mr Modi to bring about changes.
