Trump should sustain the momentum to win

This refers to the editorial, “The Trump convention” (July 22). Though the convention of the grand old party at Cleveland was held amidst high drama, there were little doubts on who called the shots in the party: Donald Trump. Seen as a rank outsider when he threw his hat in the ring, Trump's calculated openness and clever strategies seem to be clicking big. His thrust on nativity and strong views on immigrants appear to strike a chord with sizeable sections of the American public whose disillusionment with US President Barack Obama's 10-year rule looks complete. It is all about jobs and income, and Trump is all set to cash-in on the frustrations of the young, unemployed Americans.

Elections are all about impactful delivery of ideological thoughts through effective campaigning, and Trump's catchy slogans ‘Make America great again’, ‘America first’, have emotional messages to cement the breach in security and safety of the Americans. Trump's chances of making it to the White House hinges on his ability to sustain the momentum till the very end.
