Sir — This refers to the article, “It’s comedy of errors in Tamil Nadu” (October 3) by Kumar Chellappan. The death of J Jayalalithaa, the indisputable supreme leader of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), is shrouded in mystery due to confusing statements of ministers of the party.
Nevertheless, what is certain is the fact that with the death of Jayalalithaa, who was tyrannical and dictatorial in decision-making, her party now suffers from terminal decline since she has not left suitable and chosen inheritor to control and manage the party and the Government. The survival of AIADMK would be stubbornly difficult unless the party becomes united, forgetting differences and dissent among themselves in an indomitable spirit and choosing capable leader acceptable to all and who can well counter the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.
