Sir — The heart-rending scene of a farmer jumping from a high tree to death after tying a cloth round his neck in broad daylight and full public view at the Jantar Mantar in Delhi, while an Aam Aadmi Party rally was on, is a sickening reminder of our social decadence. Going by media reports, the deceased also threw at a TV journalist standing nearby, a suicide note penned on a crumpled piece of paper, which mentioned the circumstances that forced him to take the extreme step. Now, the ritualistic blame-game has begun.
