Sir — This refers to the report, “No immunity, we’ve lost faith in you: SC” and the editorial, “Bear the consequence” (March 19). With the Supreme Court turning down the Italian Government’s phony plea of diplomatic immunity for its Ambassador to India, who reneged on his commitment to send the accused marines back to India to stand trial, New Delhi must now further toughen its stand. The court’s order preventing the Italian diplomat from leaving the country till the next hearing on April 2, is also entirely justified, given the situation.
