This refers to the editorial “AAP's blunders never end” (June 12). Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's silence over Mr Jitender Singh Tomar’s fake degree issue is puzzling. Has the AAP supremo's absolute integrity stance weakened drastically after an unprecedented victoryIJ There can be no other inference going by the developments in the Tomar case. The biggest question is: Why didn't Mr Kejriwal ask Mr Tomar to put in his papers when the allegations first surfacedIJ Why is Mr Kejriwal adopting different policies as a Chief Minister and Opposition leaderIJ
If the police's version of Mr Tomar being involved in a large fake degree racket is true, then Mr Kejriwal will have no place to hide. However, people expected better from Mr Kejriwal. The Tomar episode is a sad commentary on what absolute power can do to an apparently honest man. Now one can safely conclude that Mr Kejriwal's first resignation, after being in the saddle for 49 days, was an attempt to hoodwink the people.
