Sir — This refers to the editorial, “PM’s stern warning” (February 18). It is a challenge to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who conveys the legacy of Indian spirit, values and tradition, to prove that his Government is a protector-cum-keeper of India’s multi-faith, secular credentials, tolerance, and non-violence.
India has always opened its doors for guests from the rest of the world and synthesized the values of all faiths and culture to enrich itself. Attacks on minorities convey a cowardice mentality and majority pride. At the same time, criminals have no religious colour. Today, we think of ourselves as global citizens, and we can live anywhere in the world and prosper by merit, profession and choice. If this world is broken up, our co-existence will be in danger.
