Sir — This refers to the report, “Smog lockdown” (November 7). As millions of people struggle with cough and burning eyes, many schools in the national capital either shut down or had ended outdoor activities.
Despite the alarming situation, our leaders could not resist the temptation to score political points over this issue.
The need of the hour is that agencies work together before the situation becomes a health emergency. People are suffering. There has been a lot of talk. It is now time for action. Unless there is an intelligent, systemic change that focuses on sustainability, it’s only a matter of time before other big cities go the Delhi way.
