There's no silencing the freedom of expression

Words fall short for a condemnation of the terror attack on the French satirical weekly, Charlie Hebdo, killing 12 persons, most of them journalists. Charlie Hebdo is known for commenting on world affairs satirically through cartoons and spoof reports, and sparing none. The brutal attack is being seen as an act of revenge by the Islamic State terror group for publishing cartoons of Prophet Muhammad. The magazine had been attacked earlier too and its editor had received police protection.

It is rightly said that the pen is mightier than the sword. Efforts to silence the pen were responded to by numerous cartoons and comments which appeared on social media against the Charlie Hebdo killings. The bloody path which religious intolerance has taken is a matter of grave concern for the entire world and calls for global unity against it. No religion preaches violence and bloodshed. The creator of the world, the almighty god, will never forgive those who kill others in his name.
