The three member committee (which reduced itself to nothing more than a fact-finding panel) has come out with its findings that prima facie there was an act of unwelcome behaviour from former Supreme Court judge AK Ganguly. The act falls within the ambit of sexual harassment. The apex court has posted its finding on its website (initially goofing up by disclosing the name of the victim) and closed the matter, taking the super-technical stand that the victim is not on the rolls of the Supreme Court and the judge concerned has demitted office.
The stand shocks many, since the apex court has taken suo motu cognisance in many matters and passed strictures on the Government.
