The beginning of end

Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Chaos over leadership” (April 4). Without doubt the power centre is only one and it is Congress president Sonia Gandhi. The Prime Minister along with his Cabinet have just one role — implement her whimsical plans of doling out Government money under different names and schemes and further her famous family’s legacy.

It is such an irony that so many qualified and experienced persons are singing the tune of those who have no qualification and no knowledge of the problems the nation faces. The downfall of the Congress as a party started with the emergence of Sanjay Gandhi, and even stalwarts of the freedom movement did everything possible to be in the late leader’s good books. History is repeating itself. This time the party will be thoroughly routed in the 2014 election, with no possibility of its immediate revival.
