This refers to the editorial, “‘lack-of-proof’ fig leaf” (February 3). Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done everything that was within his reach to give a long rope to Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The Pakistani media too was supportive of Mr Modi’s effort.
However, the ball is in Mr Sharif’s court. This is a testing time for him. He must decide if he wants to have friendly relations with India or protect the terrorists operating from Pakistani soil. More importantly, he must take action against the perpetrators of the Pathankot air base attack. And, in case he fails to do so, he cannot put the blame on the Modi Government for giving up on dialogue.
