Sir — In putting up a grand parade for liberty, equality and fraternity in Paris on January 11, the entire world, showing solidarity and cutting across religion, region and language, has given a befitting riposte to the mind-curdling terrorists who unleashed a series of merciless killings in Paris. The parade has demonstrated that the jihadis have no place in the modern world.
That the Muslim-majority countries also threw their weight behind the parade, speaks volumes about their disenchantment with pan-Islamist terrorism. Now, it is up to the Islamic nations to contain the fringe elements within their territories and a send strong message to the world that thejihadis should eschew all terrorism and learn the principles of co-existence.
