Sir — The world is in the pangs of a cataclysmic disturbance where terror and radicalism have churned out a heady cocktail of fear and mayhem. Having enjoyed immunity from terrorism for so many years, Australia is now confronted by extremists. The Sydney siege has re-affirmed the fact that there is no such thing as a terror-free state.
The violence unleashed by the Taliban in Peshawar is equally shocking. The manner in which it slaughtered school children at an Army school to avenge the ‘sins’ of the Pakistan Army which had targeted the militants, is mind-numbing.
