Sir — It is heartening that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam has started asserting himself, which is evident from the way he has been conducting himself of late. Instead of directing his Ministers to oversee the rescue operations and clearing of the roads post the Cyclone Vardha devastation, he has himself ventured to visit the affected areas, mingle with the people to learn about their requirements and take decisions on the spot. One expects that he does not succumb to pressure from constitutional authorities that might try to over ride his powers.
