Sir — This refers to the article, “Kashmir valley : From nowhere to nowhere” (July 17) by Balbir Punj. The recent terror attack on Amarnath pilgrims was aimed at creating communal tension in the country. The terrorists are brainwashed in the name of religion. Unfortunately, terror elements are now attacking all over the world, without fear of consequences. Globalisation has resulted in the globalisation of terror attacks too. Condemning militancy or calling them cowards etc, will not solve the problem. The root cause of terror must be eliminated for the safety of mankind. Education, true religion and social awareness in the right spirit are the need of the hour.
