Sir — This refers to the article, “Karzai is suffering from Najibullah syndrome” (March 13) by Gwynne Dyer. Bombing Afghanistan and the drone strikes in Yemen were never going to work.
Al Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood are larger and stronger. As experts around the world have rightly observed, if the Nazis and Communists were the challenge for the earlier generation, the Islamists are posing the big challenge for the present generation. Moderate Muslims and people of all other faiths or persuasions around the world must unite for their own survival and future to defeat this madness called Islamist terror.
