Surprise raids

Published on:

Sir — This refers to the raids conducted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) at 24 establishments, including those of former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and several other bureaucrats for ‘conning’ farmers.

These raids are likely to reveal only a fraction of what the CBI may want to achieve. Every person involved in the alleged irregularities must have hided the accumulated assets of the corrupt money if so earned soon after political rulers were voted out in the State.

The raids conducted by the CBI should come as a surprise soon after preliminary investigations are conducted, but before registering the case.
